Waste Not

I don’t like waste. I do like crafting. These two things came together for this little summer project. Every few months I do a clear out of the house, getting rid of things that don’t fit or are worn out and passing the still-good stuff on to our local Hospice Shop. This time I hung onto a couple of my husbands old shirts though. The collars were worn out but there was still so much nice fabric going to waste!

With the help of an online tutorial I turned that shirt into a wee dress for Molly.

The dress pictured is not perfect, it flares too much at the base. But it was an ok first try and I will have a go at making a second one soon.  I am also thinking of piecing together a tiny quilt out of some of my brother-in-laws shirts…

About Charlotte Marjoribanks Designs

I live in New Zealand with my daughter and husband. I take photos, I knit, I design knitting patterns, and I try and live thoughtfully (whatever that means on any given day).
