Tiny People

There are few things more exciting than hearing that a very good friend is going to be welcoming a baby earth-side soon. When I got this news from my oldest and dearest friend I immediately started looking through my knitting books to find something suitable to make this much anticipated little person.

I settled on a tiny cardigan from Natural Nursery Knits  that I had the perfect yarn for already in my stash (hooray!). Rowan baby alpaca in a cocoa colour. So soft and cosy.

IMG_9762Newborn sized clothing knits up so heartbreakingly fast. I have to admit to some bittersweet feelings as I made this. It would have been wonderful to be making this for a little one of my own, but what a wonderful thing it is to have a tiny person to knit for at all, especially for such a good friend.

I have already found the next tiny thing to make!
