The Gift.

My laptop gets schlepped around a lot with me at the moment. Mostly it is just flung on the car seat next to me, or slotted in to a larger bag full of planning folders. Less than ideal. My husband (proudly) provided me with a solution to this first world problem. I was given this lovely gift, this very functional ‘laptop case’…

IMG_9752I won’t deny that this is a pretty ingenious use of a cheap padded envelope, but it offended my crafting sensibilities, so I thought that I would improve on it (I am obviously an ungrateful receiver of envelopes).

I did some searching and found this online tutorial on the Purl Bee Blog. I by no means got it perfect, and I omitted most of the binding strips, but I have a new laptop bag!

IMG_9754Even better is the fact that it is all made from fabric that I already had stashed. I am pretty chuffed. It even has a velcro closure to counteract my own clumsiness.

IMG_9756Sorted. And the envelope is safely stored in my desk to be used as it was originally intended. Packaging.
