Making My Own Fun

I am on Ravelry a fair bit at the moment and I keep seeing ads and threads about mystery knit-a-longs, secret yarn of the month clubs…you know. Tempting stuff when I am on a yarn diet.

So I made my own box of mystery yarn fun. I sorted all my yarn that was bought with a pattern in mind, and I matched some loose skeins with patterns that looked fun to make, then I bagged each pattern and skein into its own wee paper bag and voila. My very own yarn of the month club right here at home.

IMG_9627I plan on using this box of stashed and bagged stuff as a way of warding off the temptation of new yarn. I can shop from here instead. My memory is so shot from lack of sleep and a two-month old cold that I am already intrigued by my own design, having conveniently forgotten half of what’s in there only a day or so after setting it up.

Whatever works, right?
