Craft Night

IMG_8947I have been missing my local knit night since my LYS closed down (Sob! Although my stashing down is more successful without a shop full of gorgeous skeins in walking distance), so I decided to start my own. I don’t know why I didn’t think to do this earlier to be honest!

I invited a small group of crafty-minded friends around for an evening of productivity, tea and brownies. It is so much easier to work on those never-ending projects in the company of other crafters. The tedium of those long stretches of stockinette or too-simple stitch patterns lend themselves well to drinking and chatting with needles in hand.

My friend, Carson, has taught himself to knit by watching YouTube videos which I think is pretty impressive!

IMG_8896And Naomi brought over her stunning and super-soft alpaca yarn baby blanket. Lucky baby to get snuggled up under this when it’s done.

IMG_8978I am looking forward to the next craft night, hopefully I will have some finished things to show off too! In the meantime I had better go as Molly is tugging at my leg and insisting it’s tea-party time.

That blanket looks amazing. There is nothing better than a craft night with good friends!
