Short Winter Days

Hah. Winter has only really hit a few weeks ago but already I am feeling the irony of the ‘short’ winter days. Winter days at home with a toddler are long. LONG I tell you. It is chucking down rain today so I have been wracking my brains for indoor activities that will keep Molly entertained for more than 15 minutes.

At 1:02 (this is important) I filled the sink with bubbles and warm water. Aha! Time to splash and mess around! I am a genius. Molly happily ‘washed’ dishes and stirred up bubbles with her wooden spoon and I was thrilled to have filled what must have been about 30 minutes.

Then I looked at the clock. 1:06.

How am I going to get through the winter? Is it too early to teach her to knit?

Cubbies!!! Large boxes, sheets/blankets thrown over chairs, add some pillows or cushion…any hidey hole is magic for preschool age children 🙂
