It’s the little things.

They can make all the difference, good or bad. Because of the husband’s run-in with chickenpox we have had to cancel a trip away to the wedding of two very dear friends. I coped with cancelling the nice accommodation. I put up with the frustration of having spent money on flights we couldn’t use. I was a grown up about swapping a romantic weekend away for a long weekend of mopping brows and changing sheets. It was putting away the dress I bought with the tags still on that made me cry!

So, when the invalids were comfortable in bed, and when I had finally caught up with housework and, you know, eating, I grabbed my knitting and finished off clue 2 of the Downton Abbey MKAL.

IMG_9323I am still lagging behind with everything, but it was nice to see physical progress on something…even if I’m not totally sold on the pattern yet! Hope you Aucklanders enjoy the long weekend!
