January’s Meal

I have made the first of my New Year Intention’s meals. I also made a mistake in choosing this particular recipe. It is Jamie Oliver’s french onion soup with cheese-toast toppers. It is too hot for soup here! It’s summer! Don’t know what I was thinking.

The photo in the book looked really appetising and filling, and my one…didn’t and wasn’t.

It wasn’t a disaster, but it also wasn’t something I’ll be making for guests. Mine was too watery and the bread fell apart far too quickly.

Still, it was different and I learned a few new things. I will just be more sensible choosing something for February!

So, please excuse the short post. I am exhausted. There is chicken pox in our household and I am the only one unaffected (please God, don’t make a liar out of me).

My family and friends are being amazing though, I just answered the door to someone dropping off ice-blocks for the invalids!

So sorry about the chicken pox. Sending non-liar vibes your way that nobody else gets it and that you recover soon. And for what it’s worth, your soup looks delicious.
