Downton Abbey Mystery KAL

IMG_9205 IMG_9293I am doing my first mystery knit-a-long with this free pattern from Jimmy Beans Wool Blog. I am even on track for finishing the first clue on time and I am using a stashed wool, some merino/bamboo mix that isn’t too horrid to touch in this humidity. So, feeling (un?)justifiably smug. This project satisfaction may all change in a week or two though. I had a read through of the instructions (I know! Shocking!) before starting and head-tilted quite a bit. Provisional what now? One needle with a 4 row repeat and another with 16? How? But it’s actually very straightforward as long as I pay attention (and don’t drink any cider while knitting). But. The pattern says gauge is very important, and I couldn’t be bothered doing a swatch so I just started. It also says you need 270 yards of yarn and I only have about 240. What could possibly go wrong?

IMG_9163In a fit of motivation I have also been working on my own new knitting pattern and I updated my Etsy shop with some new things. I am going to be better at updates this year. Maybe doing a regular once-a-week thing to stay on top of it.

You can see what’s new here if you are interested!

Back to the knitting.
