Cooler Weather

The mornings and evenings here are now cool enough that knitting and spinning is enjoyable again.

I have been working on the second bobbin of that beautiful merino and silk fibre and it’s going faster than I had thought it would which makes me happy. I can’t wait to ply this and see what the yarn is going to look like.

I am spinning this for myself and the plan is to make myself a shawl that I can wrap myself in when I am feeling awful about things. A knitted hug. Then there is some new fibre from my SIL and some mystery wool that I bought in Tauranga over Easter weekend.
My SIL gave me these beautiful silk lapps, I am not sure how to prepare fibre like this yet but I am looking forward to learning. I am intending to spin this for the Ravelympics.
Along with this possibly-corriedale fibre that I want to somehow turn into a self-striping or variegated yarn. I have yet to learn how to do that too.
And on a different note, I have some stock in a gallery in Devonport! Very exciting, even more exciting if I sell something. The Depot has taken 3 pillows and 4 bags of mine to sell, so if you are in Auckland and want to see-before-you-buy then that’s the place to go.

I particularly like the ones with ‘Mc Coffee’ on the back. Fingers crossed for some successful sales and more orders!
